The convention provides valuable education programs and networking opportunities for the $253 billion beer industry while introducing distributors to new brewers, products and innovative technologies. UNEX will be showcasing their solutions that address SKU proliferation, flexible storage, more efficient order picking and clutter-free warehouses. “To keep up with the rapidly changing environment of the beer industry, distributors must continue to modernize their warehouses and fulfillment operations,” said Brian Neuwirth, V.P. of Sales & Marketing at Unex Manufacturing, Inc. “We have had a lot of success in the beer, wine and spirits industry with our Span-Track solutions that allow distributors to house 10 times more product in the same footprint than the previous solution.” For example, Atlas Distributing made room for an influx of craft beers without having to add any more space. Workers can now locate and retrieve SKUs faster and easier because they are densely housed in visible rows with UNEX Span-Track systems. Another distributor offers over 400 different brands, which are housed in customized roller tracks to keep the hundreds of kegs off the ground and in a more condensed area. Using the Heavy Duty Span-Track solution, kegs can be easily loaded from the front of back of the lane, creating a more efficient order picking process. UNEX offers a comprehensive line of products for full case picking that speed picking operations by condensing and organizing SKUs to reduce travel time and minimize space utilization. For split case picking, solutions include tilted pick shelves/trays and knuckled track that increase pick rates and improve accuracy. The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) will offer 23 education seminars at its 78th Annual Convention and Trade Show October 11 – 14, 2015, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Award-winning journalist Candy Crowley and Captain Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger, the airline pilot responsible for the “Miracle on the Hudson,” are featured speakers.
