UNEX Wins Green Supply Chain Award

UNEX Manufacturing, Inc., the trusted industry leader in providing innovative order picking solutions, announces winning the 2015 Green Supply Chain Award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive.

The 2015 Green Supply Chain Awards recognize companies making green or sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy and providers of supply chain solutions and services assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals. UNEX was chosen for Implementing environmentally friendly material handling equipment for clients, which can include no-noise, non-powered products, which lack any use of electricity, thus saving energy costs.

“Eco-friendly designed warehouses offer other benefits besides being good for the environment; typically you can save costs on energy and operations, while contributing to higher productivity and improved employee health and comfort,” said Brian Neuwirth, VP Sales and Marketing at UNEX Manufacturing, Inc. “For example, UNEX offers flow racks that can be used in return lanes to send cartons back through the warehouse for reuse, saving on packaging materials and boxes. We are pleased to be recognized for helping clients meet their green supply chain goals.”

UNEX provides a number of cost-effective, flexible solutions that help distribution operations with green initiatives to keep products flowing through fulfillment, such as:

  • Solutions that flow and store totes, boxes and loose parts of all shapes and sizes
  • Tilted angle trays and knuckle tracks that deliver the most efficient and safe pick for workers
  • Product movement analysis to design the most efficient order picking processes
  • Pick lines that minimize product handling, reduce search and seizure time, reduce errors and ensure reliable flow
  • Space-saving solutions that maximize freezer and cooler areas

UNEX clients can double productivity, improve ergonomics and gain a quick return on investment while improving visibility and accessibility at pick points. Flexible racks, creative aisle designs and flexible carton flow options maximize space for new and existing SKUs and ensure reliable product flow. Clients better utilize existing space by using the best storage medium for each product; some clients have eliminated entire pick lines while others have been able to take on a 50% increase in volume.
