UNEX Donates Gravity Conveyors for Operation Christmas Child

UNEX Manufacturing, Inc., the trusted industry leader in providing innovative order picking solutions, announces donating conveyor systems to Operation Christmas Child to help the non-profit organization speed delivery of shoeboxes filled with toys and supplies to underprivileged children. UNEX donated four aluminum gravity conveyors and eight tripod stands to the organization for loading their truck filled with shipping cartons packed with shoeboxes.

Previously, Samaritan’s Purse, which operates Operation Christmas Child, used steel conveyors that were very heavy and hard to move and handle. UNEX provided lightweight aluminum conveyors with tripod supports that can be easily moved from the ground to the truck. Since there is not a loading dock at the donation location, the aluminum sections quickly fit end-to-end, allowing boxes to be easily pushed up the conveyor and into the truck.

“The conveyors make a big difference in the process of loading our tractor-trailers,” said John R. Atkinson, III, South Central Jersey Coordinator, Operation Christmas Child. “We thank UNEX for making such a thoughtful donation to our operation.”

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, a non-denominational evangelical Christian International Relief organization that provides spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Every gift-filled shoebox transforms the lives of children and their families by providing much needed school supplies, toys, crafts, hygiene items and accessories.

UNEX Manufacturing’s aluminum gravity conveyors move all types of loads within a warehouse, improving efficiency and increasing throughput. Conveyors are made in virtually any size, saving customers time and money by eliminating the need to cut sections to length. Tripod stands support the lightweight gravity conveyors, allowing for instant, tool free setup.
